Vocabulary for Describing Finance and Accounting

Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and use vocabulary related to finance and accounting.
Materials: Worksheet with terms and definitions, whiteboard/blackboard, markers.
Warm-up: Brainstorming (5 minutes)
Have students come up with as many words related to finance and accounting as they can in two minutes. Write them on the board and discuss any additional terms that can be added.
Presentation (15 minutes)
Explain the importance of having a good understanding of finance and accounting terms. Give examples of how this vocabulary is used in the real world.
Introduce the worksheet with the list of financial and accounting terms and definitions. Have students match the terms with the corresponding definitions.
Practice (20 minutes)
Divide students into pairs and have them practice using the terms in sentences.
Check their understanding by asking individual students to explain the terms and have them use the terms in a sentence.
Closing (5 minutes)
Review the most important terms and definitions and take questions.
