Objective:
At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to identify basic travel and tourism vocabulary in English.

Materials Needed:

  • Whiteboard
  • Chalk
  • Paper
  • Pencils

Warm-Up: (5 minutes)
The teacher will review the concept of tourism, and ask the students to think of a few words related to the topic. The teacher can then share the student’s words on the whiteboard, and discuss the differences and similarities between them.

Introduction: (15 minutes)
The teacher will explain the purpose of the lesson, which is to learn basic travel and tourism vocabulary in English. The teacher will present a list of common travel and tourism terms, along with definitions and examples, and explain their meanings.

Practice: (20 minutes)
The teacher will divide the class into pairs or small groups. Each group will receive a set of cards with travel and tourism vocabulary words, and they will have to match the words with their definitions. The teacher will then ask the students to identify what type of tourism each word describes (e.g. eco-tourism, adventure tourism, etc.).

Conclusion: (5 minutes)
The teacher will review the lesson, and ask any questions that the students may have. The teacher will then summarize the lesson by listing the most important vocabulary words on the whiteboard.
