Overview: This lesson plan will provide a basic overview of English vocabulary related to technology.
Objectives: At the end of this lesson plan, the student should be able to identify, define, and use basic English words related to technology.
Materials: Pen, paper, access to a laptop or tablet computer.
Section 1: Introduction (10 minutes)
- Introduce the concept of technology
- Explain what technology is and how it has become so important in our daily lives
Section 2: Vocabulary Review (20 minutes)
- Review key English vocabulary words related to technology, such as:
- Internet
- Wireless
- Network
- Software
- Hardware
- Program
- Data
- Computer
Section 3: Practice (20 minutes)
- Have the student use the laptop or tablet computer to explore a website, like Google or Apple, and identify which words they use that are related to technology
- Have the student use the paper and pen to write down words they recognize and to look up any words they don’t recognize
Section 4: Summary and Review (10 minutes)
- Have the student review the words they wrote down
- Ask the student to explain their understanding of the words they wrote down
