Body Parts and Health Vocabulary
- Head – the uppermost part of the body containing the brain, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth
- Neck – the part of the body connecting the head to the torso
- Shoulders – the joint connecting the arms to the torso
- Arms – the upper limbs of the body used for grasping and manipulation
- Hands – the body part at the end of the arm used for grasping and manipulation
- Fingers – the digits on the hand used for grasping and manipulation
- Torso – the central part of the body between the head and the legs
- Abdomen – the part of the torso containing the stomach and other organs
- Back – the part of the body opposite the front, extending from the neck to the pelvis
- Buttocks – the fleshy area at the back of the torso, often used for sitting
- Legs – the lower limbs of the body used for walking and standing
- Knees – the joint connecting the thigh and lower leg
- Feet – the body part at the end of the leg used for standing and walking
- Toes – the digits on the foot used for standing and walking
- Lungs – the organs used for breathing
- Heart – the organ used to pump blood throughout the body
- Brain – the organ used to control the body’s functions and process information
- Liver – the organ responsible for detoxifying the body and producing bile
- Kidneys – the organs responsible for filtering waste products from the blood
- Bones – the hard structures that make up the skeleton.
